Sint Joris Bay - also known as Kite Beach - has far more activities going on than just kiting. Located on a natural lake that is fed with seawater, it provides a unique spot for water activities that you won’t find anywhere else on the Island quite like this.

Yes, it’s known for kitesurfing, and there is lots of that going on most days—even without wind, they can tow you behind a boat. There is also paddle boarding and windsurfing available. If you are a beginner kitesurfer, there are lessons available, and if you are a pro, then what are you waiting for? This is your place to be.

This is one of the few beaches that has an organized camping area with washrooms, showers, chairs, and a bar/restaurant. The Kite Beach team is great, but it can be a bit tricky to find them, so here are some basic directions. Street names are complex or non-existent on the island—so we tend to talk in landmarks. Here goes: Drive to the Aloe Farm, then follow the road to the Ostrich Farm. You have to pass the entrance of the Ostrich Farm and drive all the way to the shoreline via the sand road. About 100 meters before reaching the shoreline, you’ll see a port at your left side with the indication “Private Property”. Enter this port and drive to the second port at the entrance of Kite Beach. You can park your car outside of the port or ask at the bar to park inside the premises. Easy, right?
